Are CAD Translators becoming a commodity? Are these translators reliable enough for use in the manufacturing supply chain?
In the last couple of years, we’ve seen the emergence of at least four companies that have reverse-engineered the primary 3D CAD formats (CATIA, NX, and Pro/E) to enable the creation of tool kits… companies such as TS3D, Datakit, CoreTech, etc. The jury is still out on the efficacy of thee tools in really sharing the models and the annotations with suppliers…
