Engineers of low-end embedded products may now have an easier way to make aesthetically pleasing displays with scalable typefaces.

Using a new software platform called Monotype Spark, small displays can now have high-quality scalable type and world language support without the need for expensive processors or large run-time memories. The new typeface platform can be employed in virtually any low-end embedded product, including televisions, set-top boxes, washers, dryers, refrigerators, mobile phones, wristwatches, health monitors, medical equipment, and automobile instrument clusters.
